In the tomato garden
The Corleone house — Staten Island, New York
Private home — please do not disturb People live here. Look only from the public street: don't enter, knock, block entrances or driveways, photograph residents or fly drones. We don't publish the house number, and the links lead to the street only.

On screen
The old Don, who has handed the reins to Michael, spends his days in the garden with his grandson Anthony. He slips an orange peel into his mouth, plays the monster and chases the boy among the tomato plants. Suddenly he collapses and dies quietly among the vines, while the child, not understanding, goes on playing.
The place today
A private home on Longfellow Avenue in Todt Hill. The tall stone wall and gate seen in the film were a styrofoam set, removed long ago; the house itself looks much as it did on screen. A family lives here: photograph quietly from the street and don’t go in.
Did you know? According to Scouting NY, it was filmed in the grounds of the same Staten Island house; today there is a swimming pool where the garden was.
